How many components does one synthesis take?

Three components of the same type and level combine into one component of the next level. A level 5 component therefore takes the equivalent of 81 level 1 components.

Can I mix different component types?

No. Only components of the same type combine, so plan one type at a time and switch the type for the next one.

What happens to components above my target level?

They are left untouched. The calculator only combines components below the target and keeps every leftover at its starting level.

Why does the calculator stop at level 8?

Synthesis runs up to level 8. Once an equipped component first reaches level 8, that slot continues with Research Value upgrades instead.

When do Airship Components unlock?

They unlock at Base level 15, and you can equip up to six components.

How to use the Airship Component calculator

Pick one component type under "Component type", such as Power Core; changing the type clears the counts.
Under "Your components", enter how many components of that type you hold at each level and leave empty levels at zero.
If you plan the first upgrade of an equipped component to level 8, count that equipped component once as well.
Choose the level you are aiming for in "Target level".
Read the "Synthesis result" and the "Synthesis by level" table, which update as you type.
Press "Clear counts" to start over with another component type.

Example: can I make a level 5 Power Core?

You hold 20 level 1, 4 level 2 and 1 level 3 Power Cores. With "Target level" set to 4, the table shows 6 components created at Lv. 1 → 2 (2 left over), 3 at Lv. 2 → 3 (1 left over) and 1 at Lv. 3 → 4. You end with 1 level 4 Power Core, ready to equip.

Switch the target to level 5 and the same stock is not enough: the leftovers are 2 level 1, 1 level 2, 1 level 3 and 1 level 4 component. The calculator tells you to collect 40 more level 1 Power Cores for one level 5 component.
