How to use the Research calculator
- Choose a tree in "Research tree", or type a name into "Find research" to locate it faster.
- Tap a research in the tree to select it; you can select several, even across different trees.
- For each selected research, set its "Current level" and "Desired level".
- Enter your "Research speed bonus" to see the estimated time.
- Read the "Results": total resources, "Estimated research time", "Base time", "Time saved" and the building requirements.
- Open "Upgrade details" to see each level, including prerequisite upgrades that were added for you.
Example: Hospital Expansion I and Barracks Expansion I to level 3
In the Development tree, select Hospital Expansion I and Barracks Expansion I, leave both at level 0 and set the desired level to 3. Both need Fast Builder I at level 1, so the calculator adds that upgrade once as a prerequisite.
The total comes to 11,100 Food, 11,100 Iron and 33,700 Coin, with a base time of 1 hr 7 min. With a 25% research speed bonus, the estimated time is 53 min 36 sec, saving 13 min 24 sec. A Tech Center at level 5 is needed for these upgrades.
Frequently asked questions
- Are prerequisite research upgrades included?
- Yes, when a research requires specific levels of other research, those upgrades are added to the totals and listed as prerequisites. A prerequisite shared by several selected research is counted only once.
- Why do I see "Check unlock requirements in the game"?
- Some research can be unlocked in more than one way or has an extra condition. The calculator keeps going but does not add those upgrades for you, so check them in the game.
- Are Tech Center upgrades in the totals?
- No. The building requirements section shows the Tech Center level you need, but building upgrades are not included in the resource totals.
- How does the research speed bonus work?
- The calculator treats it as extra speed: +100% halves the estimated research time. The base time stays visible so you can compare.
- Can I plan research from several trees at once?
- Yes. Selections stay when you switch trees, and the selected research shortcuts take you back to any of them.
- Are my selections saved?
- Yes. Your research levels, targets, tree and speed bonus are kept in this browser.
