Research for defenders
Defense Fortifications is the defending counterpart to Siege to Seize. Defense Counterattack, Fortified Defense and Standing Firm strengthen your heroes when they defend in PvP, and the branch adds an extra Hospital, more Hospital capacity and healing, resource protection and fewer Drill Grounds losses when your base is breached. It is the natural pick if you are more often the target than the attacker.

It has 16 research and 151 levels, unlocks after 40 Special Forces levels, and opens one Tech Center level earlier than Siege to Seize, at level 20.
It costs about 1,482 days at base speed, roughly 5 billion Food, 5 billion Iron, 15 billion Coins and 171,850 Valor Badges, only slightly less than Siege to Seize. The three tier III defense research are the longest, at about 138 days each.
