The Chip Institute supports Airship chip development. Construction requires Base level 20 among its conditions, and individual chip unlocks can require a particular institute level.
How chip loadouts work
A chip loadout has four skill roles: Opening, Offensive, Disruption and Defensive. Opening Skills activate at the start of a battle. Offensive Skills improve the Airship's attacks against opposing squads.
You choose a loadout before a squad battle. That choice controls which set of chip skills accompanies the fight, rather than applying every chip you own at once.
Unlocking and developing chips
The chip system is tied to Combat Advancement; reaching Combat Advancement level 10 unlocks Skill Chips once that progression is available. The institute's construction requirement and these Airship conditions are separate.
Chip Skill Amplification adds stats to SSR and UR chip skills. Combat Advancement phase breakthroughs can increase that amplification, with the added values displayed in chip details.
The Airship Center also manages components. Those supply their own stat bonuses and follow the component progression described on the Component Factory page. Components and skill chips are distinct parts of the Airship.
